Where Memories Live
Exploring how cherished objects and gentle randomness keep our inner worlds alive
I have been reading Antifragile recently, and one idea lingers in my mind:
anything without life is fragile.
Objects deteriorate, rust, fade, or lose their form as time moves forward. Yet I believe there is one way for objects to resist the erosion of time. We can allow our memories to live inside them.
Human bodies age, but the people we love remain ageless in our minds because our memories safeguard their most tender moments.
The same happens with the objects we cherish. They are shaped by use and softened by time, but they stay youthful in our hearts because they carry the stories that made them precious.
My own childhood teddy bear is nothing like what it used to be, but in my mind, it is still the quiet companion who stayed by my pillow every night.
Memory can smooth the wrinkles that time creates.✨
Reflecting on how memories give life to objects led me to another realization. Life itself is full of small, unpredictable moments.
Just as memories breathe life into objects, these little surprises stir our imagination and give our days a sense of possibility. Randomness invites the mind to wander and allows us to discover connections and joys we did not anticipate.
Deep inside, I believe we all carry a quiet longing for the unpredictable because it awakens curiosity, wonder, and the joy of discovery.
This feeling is intertwined with my inner child, and perhaps that is why the concept of a general store speaks to me so strongly.
In these spaces, nothing follows a strict logic. Items sit beside one another simply because the store owner placed them there, or because they happened to land together by chance. You never know what waits on the next shelf.
Sometimes you stumble upon something that feels like a part of your past. Sometimes you find something that holds no meaning at all. The charm lies in its lack of careful categorization. Objects are connected not by order, but by invisible threads of story, sentiment, and memory.🍃
That is the experience I want to recreate.
My general store is not merely a shop. It is a small universe you can wander into. A quiet world shaped by memories, randomness, and the gentle chaos that makes life human.
Our lives will never resemble the sterile clarity of a laboratory. They unfold through unexpected moments, loose connections, and small surprises.
Randomness is everywhere, and perhaps we are more drawn to it than we admit.😉
I hope that when you step into Kita-Sora - through my writing, my vlogs, or the little objects I create - you will feel invited into a world where memories resist time and randomness becomes a doorway to imagination.
Each object can hold meaning, warmth, and the echoes of moments that shaped us. Each visit to this small universe can remind you that the beauty of life is often found in the unplanned, the unpredictable, and the quietly magical.
Thank you for being here, walking this path with me. I cannot wait to continue building this universe for us to wander in together.✨
If this little universe speaks to you, I’d love for you to keep wandering with me.🥰
You can step further into Kita-Sora through my vlogs, my store notes, and the small objects I curate with care~
Let’s keep building this world together - one memory, one curiosity, one moment at a time. 🧚🏼♀️
